Mochi Ball Heaven

Oh hey guys! Remember me?? It's okay if you say no, I'll understand, as I apparently decided to be M.I.A. this whole month. I promise to be a better blogger next month. If you will believe me, I'm going to tell you that I haven't been posting this whole month, not because of my lack of desire to shoot my outfits, but rather because San Francisco has been quite unpredictable with its weather patterns. That's right, I'm blaming it on the weather. Literally the last two times D.J. and I attempted to shoot on location, we got rained out. And, as my luck would have it, every single time the sun would come out, I would have work. So, as a result, I have all these amazing outfits and accessories saved up for future posts. And, if you are wondering why I don't just do indoor shoots, it is because these outfits are meant to be seen in the sun. But don't you worry your pretty little heads because pancakeSTACKER is coming back in full force this March. Speaking of, can you believe the month is already over??

Cardigan, skirt, ring: Forever 21; Dress worn as top: H&M; Owl Necklace: Kaityln (LA); Rain boots: Random boutique in Westwood (LA); All photos by: D.J. Lan

Every single time D.J. and I got rained out, we always ended up eating and justifying it by saying it would count as a food post. I swear I've gained about seven pounds in the last month with all the food I have been consuming. Obviously you can't tell in these pictures because of my over-sized cardi, but you'll just have to take my word on it. These were snapped while I frolicked around Japantown in San Francisco. There was no way I could pass by a mochi stand and NOT stop and let my taste buds enjoy. These little babies were filled with a delicious red bean filling, and their soft texture and sweet flavor made every bite just as delightful as the first. Best $1.50 I spent that day. I also got this awesome little owl phone charm that I love, but everyone else apparently thinks I am ridiculous for purchasing such a thing. I will have to post a picture up here so you guys can be the judge. But, I personally think my cool factor went up like at least 10 points now that I have it.

And before I go, I just wanted to share the above prints of San Francisco by local Bay Area artist, Tomoko Maruyama. I saw these literally right as I was walking out the door of J-Town. I have never seen more beautiful prints of my hometown. All the bright colors give me such a warm feeling about my gorgeous hometown. If not for the mochi balls alone, I will be coming back to stock up on some of this charming artwork.
