When You Look My Way, I Don't Know What To Say. I Haven't Felt This in Such a Long Time...

Hello my loves. Oh, how I've missed you! I was originally going to wait until next week to make this post, but why put off tomorrow, what can been done today? So, let's get down to it, shall we? You are all probably wondering why I've taken such a long, unplanned hiatus. To tell you the truth, I think it was one part blogger burn out, and two parts scheduling issues. In the month I was gone, I spent many nights conjuring up posts and jotting down ideas in my little notebook. I wanted nothing more than to produce all the outfit posts that lingered in my mind. Alas, time was just not on my side. As most of you know, DJ helps me out with her beautiful photography skills. We've both had such colliding schedules this past month, that it has been a bit of a struggle to get all of our ideas into action. But, we both finally have some free time, and I seriously cannot wait to show you everything we have been planning. Now, about that blogger burn out? It wasn't so much that I was tired of blogging, but I guess you can say, I felt like everything was moving so quickly in my both my blogging bubble and life, that I needed a moment to sit back, observe, and recoup. I don't think that makes very much sense, but I guess some of the things I ponder just can't be conveyed as eloquently as I would like. Anyhoo, I hope this post is a good indicator of what's to come.

John West  feat. Pusha T- Lovely

Sheer maxi skirt, Lace dress (worn as a top), and Necklace: Forever 21; Shoes: Jessica Simpson Dany Heels; Belt: Nordstrom; Photos by: DJ Lan

DJ and I took these photos in the pouring rain. I kid you, NOT. I was freezing and pretty much thought I was going to catch pneumonia. But, the misty fog that engulfed the brooding trees behind me was just so breathtaking, that I took one for the team. Hilariously enough, the heart-shaped balloons I bought that day just would not fly, but somehow, I think it was just all so fitting...just like the song I picked to go with this post. I have to tell you that I am madly in love with this man, John West. I first saw him playing on 3rd Street along the promenade in Santa Monica. I went to see his show last year at the Avalon, and the music that touched my ears felt like each and every word just hit my soul. If you think I'm being dramatic, I assure you I'm not. He's that good. I almost didn't want to tell you about him, because I know he's going to get super big, and he won't be my little secret anymore. But, I thought, hey, why not share the love. He's playing a concert on April 8th in LA, so if you are in the area, please go see him. You will not regret it. Oh yeah, and I'm going to be there too, so LET'S MEET UP, all you sexy Angelinos.

  4. So glad to see you are back in the blogosphere, my dear! Sometimes a blogger break is needed, I don't blame you at all for taking one. It's happened to all of us at some point or another and we all have our own way of regrouping! I'm excited to see and hear of the ideas you have coming up.
This outfit is beautiful on you! The added color of the red balloon makes this otherwise neutral palette of colors much more vibrant.

  14. I love the balloon photos - I think they came out perfect, especially the first one. I always think balloon pics come out so good, but I think the rain weighing down on yours really makes this set unique.

  25. So I was catching up on your blog and then just saw you'll be here the 8th. :) Email me when you're free to meet up! stylewithbenefits@gmail.com

As you know, big fan of leopard & lace together. Goes so well together! And I feel you about sometimes needing to take a blogging break; I too end up saving all of these photos/designers I want to blog about and then there just doesn't seem to be enough time in the day to do it all. Sigh. Glad you're back. :)
