pancakeREVIEW: Larchmont Bungalow

Larchmont Bungalow 107 North Larchmont Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90004

By now, you know that one of my favorite things to do is eat. On my first day in LA, I had the pleasure of lunching at the Larchmont Bungalow with my close college friend, Ryan. It was a gorgeous day, so we enjoyed the rays as we sat in the corner by the large, light-filled windows. You might remember that this wasn't my first time at Larchmont. I first fell in love with their delicious menu when a friend and I came for breakfast. Yet, even though this was my second visit there, choosing which items to have for lunch was just as (if not more) difficult than before.

In the end, with some help from some informative staff suggestions, I went for the Stuffed Turkey Burger and Ryan had the Bison Chili Burger. Before our burgers came out, Ryan and I tried the Chicken Tostadas from Larchmont's new Vegan menu as a starter. I'm not Vegan, but I do value healthy and sustainable foods every now and then. Coming from two meat-eaters, these tostadas were a win (if you couldn't tell from the pictures up above). Fresh and delightful, the crisp crunch made it hard to stop going in for another bite. Ryan and I were almost worried we wouldn't have room for our entrees!

The Turkey Burger, stuffed with caramelized onions, apples and brie, can best be described as delicious comfort food. Every bite was filled with flavor and left me feeling at ease (if that's even possible considering how much food I stuffed my face with!). I had several bites of Ryan's Bison Burger, mostly because I couldn't stop after just one. This chili, made without any meat, hit my taste buds hard. It was an explosion of powerful flavor that was very different from the comforting Turkey burger. Even better, it was 97% fat free! There was no way I could have gone wrong with either burger.

Last, but not least, no visit to Larchmont can be deemed complete without their famous Red and Blue Velvet pancakes. The pancakes were better than I remembered and the best end to an amazing meal. The next time I'm in town, I'll have to complete my Larchmont experience with their dinner menu!

Disclosure: Please note that while I was invited by Larchmont to sample their menu, all the thoughts expressed above are my own honest opinions.

  6. *bookmarks* I must visit Larchmont! Yummy... and even though I just had dinner... that stuffed turkey burger sounds divine... but not as delicious as the red and blue velvet pancakes! I'm not a Vegan either, but everything just looks so appetizing that I'll definitely have to get my Vegan cousin to try! Thanks for sharing! =)
