It's raining cats and dogs here in San Francisco, which is really kind of a bummer because I purchased a few new spring wardrobe essentials. Since I can't snap some fun outfit photos outside, I thought I would at least show you how I am planning to wear some of my new pieces.
I'm not one to draw attention to my lower half with brightly colored pants, but these neon pink trousers were just calling my name, so I said "What the heck," grabbed a pair and headed straight to the fitting room. I was surprised that they fit and even more surprised that I purchased them. They're loud, daring, fun, and colorful. This is one way I'd wear them, but I can see myself toning them down with a pair of classic black heels and a crisp white blazer. They're at H&M right now for $14.95 and a little birdie told me they're now buy two, get one free!
I knew I was getting myself into trouble when I walked into Forever 21, but I did it anyways. Right now, there are a plethora of spring skirts just waiting for a new home. I gave three of them a sweet spot in my closet and this is one of them. Maxi dresses and maxi skirts are my thing. This is sheer, lace panel skirt is similar to a black one I have. (If you need a reminder on what my black one looks like, you can click here and take a gander.) I recently received the Rina Bootie in the Natural color c/o 80%20 Shoes and can't wait to wear them out. I want to wear this outfit with an H&M floral blouse (similar to the print on these pants), but I walked out of the store without the blouse. Let's be honest though, I'm picking it up when I score more pants.
Hello, skirt #2! I saw this lone skirt hanging in the racks amongst other brightly colored items, but I only had eyes for its beautiful design. The print, the colors, the buttons, the bow - it was love. When I got home, I noticed how much I had to go with it, and that is when I knew it was meant to be.
You guessed it! Skirt #3. I don't have very much green in my closet, but I've found it to be quite the flattering color. This pleated maxi came with the gorgeous braided belt shown above, which is a two-for one win in my opinion. It's reminiscent of Little House on the Prairie, which isn't really my thing, but I picked it up anyways. It's always good to have some pieces in your closet that you would't normally have. Now, for the pièce de résistance (drum roll please...) my new vintage Hermès flats. I actually picked them up last month, before my trip to LA, but I have yet to wear them out. Truth is, they are sitting on my shelf, and that is probably where they will stay as more of an art piece, rather than footwear. I found them at a vintage store here in the city and just tried them on for fun. I never thought I'd actually buy them, but I'm glad I did. If anything, they'll be a great investment piece in the years to come.
