Your mouths are undoubtedly already watering after seeing the photo above, right? If they're not - check your tastebuds. Last Sunday, I had the ultimate "treat yourself" day thanks to the kind folks at Bardessono Hotel, located Napa Valley's Yountville. More on that in an upcoming post - today we're focused on the food. Because no day in the life of pancakeSTACKER is complete without food, it was only fitting that I try out the Lucy Restaurant & Bar during my visit.

Lucy offers seasonal, ingredient-driven fare that leverages the local bounty of Napa Valley - something that I absolutely loved. Lucy's own chef Victor Scargle grows his own produce in the onsite CCOF
(California Certified Organic) culinary garden located just steps away from the restaurant. While visiting the garden, I learned that Scargle first takes what's in the garden to determine his dishes. Only after the veggies are picked does Scargle choose what proteins would compliment each dish. Dishes using the locally grown greens are listed on Lucy's menu with a little green leaf. After knowing this, I made sure to pick out something straight from the fresh garden.

On the weekends, Lucy serves brunch. And, if you know me, you know that weekend brunch is my favorite thing ever. I opted for the Lucy Bagel Benedict with smoked salmon. Not only did it look like perfection, but it also tasted like it. The avocados were as fresh as could be and the salmon was light and airy. My only qualm was that I wish the bagel was a bit softer, but other than that I loved it. As mentioned, I wanted to make sure I picked something from the garden, so I ordered the Baby Beet Salad as well. If you love beets, be sure to order this one. The beets were so incredibly fresh and the crinkled cress offered a nice texture and taste.

Gabs opted for the chilaquiles and while I didn't have a taste, she made sure to let me know how delicious her dish was. Any brunch dish with perfectly cooked eggs is a winner in my book. Not one to say no to dessert, I also ordered the "Cold Cobbler" and the Carrot Cake. The cobbler dish featured quince, gluten free almond crumble, cinnamon ice cream and cardamon tapioca. It was refreshing for a warm day and one I'd recommend for any cinnamon and tapioca lovers. The carrot cake featured a salted caramel ice cream that was to die for.

Overall, my experience at Lucy was more than I could have asked for. The staff was so incredibly attentive and polite, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was relaxing and beautiful. I look forward to heading back again soon!
