Earlier this month, I was invited to take a peek at the new J.Jill Inspired Style store at The Village at Corte Madera in Marin. It's not often that I travel outside the city for an event, but I was really excited to take a look at a store that was a bit different than my usual go-to's here in the city. I have to be honest - before this day, I had never walked into a J.Jill store. I was familiar with the store, but I was always under the impression that it was for an older demographic. But, as you know, I am always open to trying out new places, in hopes that I'll learn more about a store's clothing and story, and hopefully, find something that's just right for me. So, when I was invited to preview the new Inspired store line, I couldn't pass up the offer to visit.

For those who may not be familiar, J.Jill is a national retailer for women's fashion. The clothing is relaxed, but tailored, and meant for on-the-go gals who want to feel comfortable, but still look put-together. The new "uncomplicate" concept store at Marin's Corte Madera location is based on the understanding that the everyday woman is busy, so the shopping experience should be as easily navigatable as possible. The store features a sleek, modern and, you guessed it, uncomplicated feel - it's open and there's a sense of ease when moving through the store to pick up pieces.

As I walked up and down the store, I found so many great staples that were missing from my closet. From jeans and chinos to sweaters and coats, every piece looked like it was made to live in. Since it was my first time trying on J.Jill's pieces, I tried both the regular and petite sizes to find my perfect fit. I tried on so many things that evening, that I had to have been in the fitting room for an hour. (The last time this happened it was Prom and I was in high school, ha.) The denim and pants were so ridiculously comfortable, I struggled not to purchase everything I tried on. I found that the petite sizes fit me better in bottoms, but I opted for the regular sizes when it came to the tops. Aside from the clothing's comfort level, the quality of the pieces is also superb. I knew that whichever items I ended up bringing home would be mine for a long, long time.

So, what did I bring home with me that night? Stay tuned for my upcoming outfit posts to find out!
