The Haircut

pancakeSTACKER Blog x Haircut x Redbook Magazine

Remember a couple months ago when I shot these photos and hinted at something special? It took all my might not to spill the beans, but alas, I finally can. I chopped off my hair not too long ago and while it may have seemed like a routine haircut, there was something brewing beneath the surface. I loved (LOVED) my long locks. I loved them so much that it was only going to take something big to make me cut 'em off. Well, something big happened...

One day, in late April, Redbook Magazine came a-knocking and asked me if I wanted to be in their August issue for a before-and-after hair feature. As you can imagine, I pinched myself and wondered if they were really talking to me. Then all of a sudden one week later, I was getting five inches chopped off, and before I could take in what was happening, my long lengths were no more and I was getting interviewed by one of their writers. Truth be told, it has still taken me some time to get adjusted to my new hair, but I've always been one to welcome change. I finally saw my feature in Redbook's August issue and it is definitely surreal. Needless to say, I bought three copies - one for me, one for my mom, and one for my dad, ha!

I cannot thank Redbook enough for the opportunity and JennyMay for being there to snap the photos that made it into the issue. And of course, thank you so much to all my blog supporters - none of these opportunities would be made possible if it wasn't for the amazing people who follow my blog and support me on the daily.
