Stacker Style: What To Wear To A Warriors Game

A few weeks back, my friends at ShopStyle invited me to attend a Warriors game with them, which can only be described as a bucket list moment. These last few years have been really exciting for Bay Area sports - World Series titles, a Super Bowl game (even though... it wasn't actually ours, lol), and championship rings. As you know, I am a Niners and Giants gal through and through. I love my SF teams. I wish I could claim my die-hard Warriors fan status, but alas, I only own one Warriors hat (see above) compared to my eight Niners and Giants caps combined. That being said, in the last handful of years, I've slowly started to incorporate more of the game onto my "to cheer for" list (thanks to friends who don't mind if I tag along to eat popcorn & ask too many questions while they attentively watch each play and a boyfriend who is actually a die-hard fan). Plus, I'm not one to deny greatness. Steph Curry, anyone?

That being said, I would be lying to you if I said that I wasn't super amped on what my courtside attire was going to be. I sent way too many text messages asking my friends if my new haircut plus snapback combo made me look too much like Bruno Mars. (Please see this photo for reference.) Still unsure about that one, but I went with the hat, anyways...for better or worse. It was an amazing experience to watch such a talented team play live. And of course, there was never a moment when I was without a snack in hand. Seriously.

Stacker Style: Viva La Good Vibes

A midweek hello from your girl! It's raining here in SF, but a few weekends ago, the sun came out and this tee (and smile) came out. It's an oldie but a goodie from Marine Layer; I originally bought it for a trip to Palm Springs! I've actually found myself wearing it (okay, this whole outfit) repeatedly (give or take sunnies and denim jacket swapped for a huge puffer coat, lol) because of how comfortable it is. It's an added bonus that this tee is incredibly soft. Plus, good vibes are my standard for everything these days - if it doesn't make me feel good, I'm not into it. Negative vibes, closed minds, and anything/one else that doesn't serve me are not welcome. Nope. Not this year. I've got a lot of plans for this year, but am taking each day piece by piece. Stacker Style: Elevating My Closet

The older I get, the more my style changes - as it should be. For the most part, I'm still very much into comfy casual. I love my sneakers, I wear white tees (like the one above) more than I care to admit, I'm happiest in athletic wear, and I love my oversized outerwear. Having said that, I'm slowly getting better at purchasing items that complement my figure. And, better yet, over the last handful of years, I've ditched fast fashion (with the occasional hiccup here and there). I've been really into Everlane, ever since trying out their clothes for the first time last year. (You've seen my love of their wide leg crop here, here and here). I was pleasantly surprised when Derrick surprised me with these Everlane Oxfords for Christmas. To tell you the truth, I never would have picked out these shoes for myself as they're a little out of my comfort zone. But, as soon as I slipped them on, I was in love. Their great quality and though they're taking some time to break in, I know they'll be a staple in my closet for years to come. I originally received this trench as a gift from Two Feathers. Originally, the trench was a bit too big for me. But, after giving it another go, I decided the oversized fit worked the right outfit. Both the trench and the oxfords are two pieces really elevating my closet right now. And, of course, you can never go wrong with a classic white tee. Right?

Stacker Style: Bae Love

I grew up as a Niners & Giants fan. My grandma would (and actually still does, lol) watch hours and hours of baseball - it's her favorite sport. Of course, her favorite team is the Giants, so I pledged my allegiance early on. The same goes for the Niners. My parents watched a ton of football when I was growing up. I can still hear my moms screams, cheering on the Niners whenever they were on. Like every team, our Niners have had their up and downs. These last five years have definitely been a rollercoaster for the team, but I think they're finally back on the up and up. I got this Booger Kids sweatshirt years ago, and it's one I plan to hold onto until I have kids of my own. They'll obviously be Niners and Giants fans, too, so they're about to hit the jackpot when I hand over all my "vintage" goodies.

Stacker Style: Textures and Lengths

Another winning piece from my Boxing Day haul are these sweet straight leg jeans that I scored for $30. (I'm getting really good at finding under $50 deals, can you tell?) After taking a gander at my closet and realizing that all my pants were starting to become wide leg crop clones, I decided it was time to stick a straight leg in there. Still kept the crop, because I find them much more flattering on me. I will say that the crop style isn't quite the best for this cold, wet weather we're experiencing, but I'm not above wearing chunky socks and ankle booties, so long as it means I can keep my flattering fit, ha. Thanks to Boxing Day deals, these jeans have gotten gobbled up,  but there are still a few sizes left! These heels are long gone, but I've shared a few similar styles below. The heels (at a whopping $20, y'all!) were a major score from the Zara sale. They're of course a dupe of The Row's original kitten heel, but I'm balling on a budget so the knock-offs were a-ok with me. I decided to layer my outwear (for extra warmth) and played with length to give my all-black ensemble a little something more than meets the eye. Texture and lengths are great ways to jazz up an otherwise monotonous uniform.

Stacker Style: Does This Make Me Look Cool?

When I asked Derrick if he thought I looked cool in this outfit, he said that he couldn't tell if he was just so used to seeing me wearing this style of 'fit, or if I really did look cool. Perhaps I'm biased, but I vote for cool girl vibes, right? I got these jeans and this fleece on super duper sale this past Black Friday. Jeans were (and still are) $10 and the fleece was under $20. I got the fleece in two colors because it's just that good and warm. The jeans have made it to the top of my favorite list. They do run extremely large - I am normally a 26/27 waist and sized down to a 25, but honestly, could (and should have) gone down to a 23. Not quite sure why they run so much larger than true, but strap a belt on and you're kinda okay. The coat is an old, old one from Nordstrom - actually a gift from my mom back in like the 7th grade. I'm not joking. How's that for something old and something new? Let me remind you that I turn 30 next month, so 7th grade is feeling waaaaaay long ago.  

Stacker Style: Here's to 2018

Here it is. My first post of 2018! It's crazy to think that I've been blogging since 2010. This blog (and you guys) have seen a lot. And yet, there's still so much more to see (feel, learn, and do). And that's what I am looking forward to this year. 2017 was a whirlwind - many valleys and many peaks, but 7 days in and I know (feel and truly believe) that 2018 will be the best one yet. Not just for me, but for all. I am looking forward to creating more, sharing more stories, meeting more people, and learning more about myself and everything else there is so soak up and learn in this world. Here's to 2018. Let's make it spectacular.

Stacker Style: Christmas Cheer

Keeping this post short and sticky sweet. Wishing you and yours a very joyous holiday season! I'm so grateful to have this little place on the internet, and more than that, I'm thankful to have a community that supports my work. With the year wrapping up, I am looking forward to another fresh start with more good things to come. I hope you guys are all taking some time today to slow down and enjoy time with your loved ones. Stacker Style: That '70s Girl

I love pulling out these retro-style brown boots because they always make me feel like I'm living in the 70's. And with the boots, comes this suede shearling vest, because the two just go together so, so well. I am almost certain that the last time I styled these boots for the blog, I pulled out the vest to go with. (Updated, I did and here is the post, lol.) Alas, I am the queen of rewearing my "old" clothes, but I think that's ok because this is real life, after all. This time around, instead of wearing some blue jeans, I opted for, well, a blue denim dress. I think browns look really classic when paired with denim... especially denim with brown stitching. I layered another striped long sleeve under my dress, because as I said before, stripes go with everything. Invest in a good quality striped piece, if you haven't already. This one is from Amour Vert and it's sustainably made. Not only does it feel good to wear, but it feels great knowing I'm being smart with my style.

Stacker Style: THIS DRESS... Again

Alright, alright. Yes, it's this dress again, but I told you I would show you how to style it three ways, right? How else will you believe me when I say that it's the most versatile silk slip dress around? The first time you saw this dress here, I was channeling a summer casual vibe. The second time was just last week, here, and I'd say it was still more "fall" than winter. Now, this time around, I decided to style this silk slip dress with OTK/knee high boots and a chunky turtleneck sweater, so there would be no question about what season I was dressing for. The sweater, by J.Jill is one of my absolute favs. I received it from the brand a few seasons back. Along with the two other sweaters that I have from them, this one stays in heavy rotation. Nothing says "winter" quite like a turtleneck, right? These boots go well over the knee, but for this look, I folded down the cuff to show you a little bit of leg. I love long maxis and midis with slits; they're a great way to add a little somethin' somethin' to otherwise basic pieces. Stacker Style: Layer Up

These days, I've been very into layering. More often than not, a turtleneck is involved. In this case, I pulled out an old, old (like 2015 old) sleeveless one and decided to layer it with one of my trusty striped long sleeves. If there's one thing you guys need in your closet (aside from a versatile slip dress), it's a good ole long sleeve. I have three and they're all in variations of black, white or navy (shocker), so methinks it's definitely time to get one with some color... in the new year. I topped off my top half with this faux shearling aviator jacket that is trés chic and warm. I even wore it to Outside Lands, so you know it's made for warmth (ha!). It comes in a million other colors (all of which have slight variations to them) including burgundy, a really fabulous dusty pink, and this contrast tone one. I'm a sucker for distressed jeans, even in the winter, so I couldn't resist my high waist wedgie jeans (that you guys originally saw, here). Finished off the look with my trusty day heels - these suckers been getting me around town since I got them.

Stacker Style: The Most Versatile Slip Dress

I am about to show you every single way to wear this versatile slip dress that I got a little while back. You first saw it, here, when I wore it with a long cardi and my casual sneaks. Stacker Style: Girls To The Front

I wasn't lying when I told you that I wear these pants to death. I'm literally in one of my pairs at least twice a week. I wear them to meetings, when I've got to look a little more polished, and I wear them with sneakers (like in this look), when I am moseying around town. Highly recommend. As for this cute tee, I picked it up a few months back when I was in Austin. I had been eyeing it at other shops for a while, and finally decided to go for it. I wear it when I'm feeling a little sassier than usual. Given my sass levels, it's a wonder that I'm not in it more...

Stacker Style: Black and White, or Bust

I heard it was a whopping 90 degrees last week for my SoCal pals, so this one's for you. In all fairness, the weather up north has been fickle as f, so this look wouldn't be too uncalled for. I received this cami from Two Feathers and was super excited to wear it out. I love the asymmetrical detail - it really gives it a little something extra, doesn't it? I kept it simple in black and white, but I'm already thinking up ways to spice up this cami to be a bit more fall-appropriate. Stay tuned to see what I cook up next.

Stacker Style: Pinstripe Pancake

I am having a hard time coping with the fact that fall is here. On the one hand, I'm excited for nights in, Netflix binges, and fuzzy sweaters and socks. But I truly am a sunshine girl at heart. I love the warmth, I love the sun, and I love basking in it. Plus, isn't Vitamin D a natural mood booster? Of course, fall and winter aren't all that bad. Cozy layers, anyone? I've already pulled out all of my turtleneck sweaters, wool coats, and am looking for new ways to layer up some of my summer items, including this pinstripe piece that I received from Two Feathers. Because fall crept up on me, I wasn't ready to give up my dresses just yet. I decided to layer my wrap dress with a light turtleneck to keep me warm in SF's brisk, but warm, but brisk weather. Next up, once the weather gets even colder, I'll probably add in some tights and some knee-high boots.

Stacker Style: DVF Kissed My Cheek

An alternate name for this blog post was "Where's Waldo," which is coincidentally what I was for Halloween, thanks to this stunner of a sweater. But, I thought "DVF Kissed My Cheek" was more appropriate, because, well, it happened. You've already heard me preach on how much I was feeling myself after the whirlwind of a night that was the #DVFStudioxLevi event, but like I said, I have a vault of photos and it's time to share them all.

I've come to acknowledge that my favorite color might just be red. I love a red lip, a red statement bag, and now, this red dress. I'm often found wearing the basics - black, white, navy - but the more I put this color on, the more I feel good and alive, confident, and happy. Can you tell? How's that for feeling like a million bucks? 

Stacker Style: Austin City Limits 2017, Day Three

What I didn't tell you about my Austin City Limits adventure is that the day before my trip, I got attacked by a crazy mosquito. It bit my forehead six times and my arms about another six to eight more times. Yes, it did look like I got hit in the face. And then, just as my face and arm swelling started to go down... I got bit by MORE mosquitoes on my legs when I got to Austin. It was sad and funny all at the same time. I was swollen, it was humid and hot, and I got no relief. Why am I telling you this? Because on day three of ACL, the sun came out in full force and it was almost miserable. My bites were more swollen than ever thanks to the heat, and if you look really, really closely... you can see a few in these photos. Luckily, Juice Land saved my soul, and the Gorillaz and Zhu met my musical expectations. Now, time to start saving and planning for Austin, year four.

Stacker Style: Austin City Limits 2017, Day Two

I found these pants at a random shop in the mall and they cost me less than $20. Aside from being insanely affordable, they also happened to be the most comfortable pants I own. Hyperbole? Nope - they're really that comfortable. Maybe it's because they were loose and free flowing and allowed me to eat queso and bbq to my heart (and stomach's) content. Whatever the case, day two's festival fit was my favorite of the whole weekend. It also helped that I had a matching bag and some dope platform sandals to give me an inch or two above the concert crowd. Aside from that, I was having a really good hair day, so there's that.

Stacker Style: Austin City Limits 2017, Day One

I'm finally getting around to this ole thing and let me tell you - the photo vault is fully and plenty. So, it's time to start churning these babies out. Starting with this one. A little over a month ago, your girl took a trip to her favorite city in the country, Austin, Texas. It was my third visit to the city and my third Austin City Limits in the books. This year's lineup was pretty rad - Zhu, Gorillaz, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Portugal. The Man, and more! Truth be told, I'd seen most of the performer's on this year's bill. But, I was really excited to finally see the Gorillaz and the xx, and I was even more excited to catch Zhu and the Peppers again. The xx closed day one and they were my favorite set of the whole weekend - so magical to see them perform live!
