Crazy for Crop Tops

pancakeSTACKER Blog x Brandy Melville x Aeropostale

I know. Looks familiar, doesn't it? That's because it's a combo I can't get enough of - jean jackets and crop tops in shades of blue. Call me a repeat offender. Go on. I deserve the title. When it's warm out, but the wind kicks in, I prefer a loose crop top, oversized denim jacket, and easy to wear pants. Mules? Yeah, they work, too. All about playing with proportions, I guess.

Shorter Lengths

pancakeSTACKER Blog x Aeropostale

Hi, guys! Sorry I've been a little radio silent on the blog this last week - I've been a tad bit busy and haven't been able to sit down and crank out some thoughtful posts. Luckily, I'm still sharing all my daily adventures with you on Insta, so you know where to find me for your daily, fresh stack.  I've been on a maxi and midi skirt kick, so much so that I almost never wear shorter-length skirts. So this, my friends, is a rare occurrence. I actually picked this skirt up way back when in July when I was in Fourth & fireworks mode, but never got around to wearing it. I pulled it out one day and while I love the detail, I'm still much more into those longer lengths. But hey, sometimes going outside your comfort zone is the best way to find out what you like and don't like.

Nothing New

pancakeSTACKER blog x Aeropostale

Nothing new over here! Okay, with the exception of this top I just picked up from Aeropostale, but the rest of the pieces are just some good ole closet faves. The jeans - I'm a bit bummed I can't wear them into the office, but man, do I love wearing them on the weekends! I think they're currently my most loved pair of distressed jeans. And, I find that the more that I wear them, the more comfortable they become (but that's not all that surprising). This camo jacket has been loved to the moon and back - I can't get enough of it. I dressed up my casual look with some gold jewels - just enough to give it some extra spark. Now, looking at these photos makes me wish for the weekend! Almost there, guys...almost there!

Marvelous Maxi

pancakeSTACKElog x Pink Blush Maxi Dress x Aeropostale Denim Vest

I've worn this maxi more than a handful of times since I received it, and it's not hard to see why. It's the perfect fit - loose at the tummy, flowy throughout the bottom, and tight at the top. I love that I can dress it up or down depending on the occasion. I love the many ways I can wear it - I've belted it, tied a knot at the bottom, and styled it with different outwear. Versatility is a sign of a great piece, if you ask me. I know you are all probably so tired of hearing me say this, but I can't help but repeat myself. This is another piece you'll definitely see over and over in posts to come - I can't wait to show you all the ways I wear it!

The Short Story

pancakeSTACKER Blog x Zara Shorts x Aeropostale Tank Denim Jacket

Awww yeah - stem season! First my romper and now these shorts - best believe there will be more stem shots filling your feeds soon. I picked up this pair of shorts from Zara ages ago. Seriously, I got them pre-rest-of-the-world-summer and knew that it'd be months before they'd get their time in the sun. I mean, what screams summer like hawaiian-print short shorts, right? Alas, the time has come and I hope to have done them a little bit of justice with this outfit I pulled together. I've been wearing this Aeropostale denim jacket and white mules everywhere and like I said in Monday's post, you'll be seeing more of them in posts to come. Can't help but love a good thing.

Orange You Glad

pancakeSTACKER Blog x Tobi Floral Dress x Aeropostale Camo Jacket x Will Leather Goods Tote x Jeffrey Campbell Wedges

That summer has officially set in San Francisco?? I am. With temperatures in the high 70's, I'm busting out all the short shorts, rompers, dresses, and maxis. These legs ain't gonna tan themselves! And when I find a strapless dress, it's even better - no tanlines, y'all. But, if we're being honest, in all my days of dressing up, orange has never been a color I've reached for first. (Well, unless you count Orange Fridays at the ballpark.) But, when I saw this orange frock on Tobi.com, I knew it had to be in my closet. So, all in all, this dress is a complete win: new color, perfect for the sun, and no risk of wonky tan lines. Sold.

Yes To Mules

pancakeSTACKER Blog x Aeropostale Jeans x Shoedazzle Mules

I was originally going to get up my June pancakeLEFTOVERS post, but truth be told, the week got away with me, so I'm going to use the long weekend to catch up. So, as a substitute, here are some quick outfit shots featuring my latest obsession: my new mules. I never thought I could pull off wearing the trend. Mules, birks, slipper sandals - they're all on my "TBD" list. But as of this week, I can successfully move over mules to the "yes" list. I ordered these babies for $10 (yes, you read that right) and I imagine I will be wearing them over and over and over again.

Just Another Coffee Critter

pancakeSTACKER blog x LeTote x Indigo Rein Jeans x Aeropostale Camo Jacket x Coach Crossbody x Dolce Vita Sandals

Snapped some quick outfit photos with my trusty iPhone (hey, don't judge now...) this past weekend. This outfit kind of just came together in five minutes or less (which almost never happens), and I actually quite love the result. A basic black button-up, paired with distressed denim, and a play of prints = instant success. Am I right? I scooped up these sandals last weekend and they're basically the closest I will get to Birkenstocks, I think. Not only are they ever-so-adorable, but they're comfortable as hell. Feels like my feet are walking on clouds. For outfit deets and more quick pics, click below.

Play The Field

pancakeSTACKER Blog x Nine West Flats x Indigo Rein Jeans x Aeropostale Tee x Kate Spade Clutch x Zerogravity iPhone 5 Case

If there's one thing I love about baseball games, it's the food.  Okay, I love the Giants, you guys, but I also really love the food. My favorite ballpark snack is definitely, without a doubt, the crab sandwich. If you've been to AT&T park and haven't treated yourself to the crab sandwich, you are doing yourself a disservice. It may cost you a pretty penny ($17?), but it is worth it! A couple other ballpark faves: the garlic fries (duhhh, with extra ketchup) and watermelon beer ('tis the season for 21st Amendment's watermelon wheat!). Leave it to me to start off a baseball-inspired OOTD post with thoughts of food, right?

Do You Bolivares?

pancakeSTACKER Blog x BOLIVARES Tee and Beanie x Aeropostale Denim Shorts x Steve Madden Booties

Do you Bolivares? Bolivares isn't for everyone. In fact, it's not even a womenswear brand. But if you Bolivares, you do what you want. Bolivares is a new brand of quality menswear. It's quality, comfort, and ease. When I put on my Bolivares tee, I was in love with the way the fabric felt against my skin. Imagine it as your boyfriend's tee that you just wanna live in. I don't have a lover bee, so I skipped that step and just got this sent straight to me, haha. But on the real, it's smooth and soft and everything you want in the perfect tee. And the beanie? Bold, bright, thick, and versatile. So, I may not be a guy, but I Bolivares. Do you?

LeTote'in Around Town

pancakeSTACKER blog x LeTote x Aeropostale Camo Jacket x Jigsaw London Wool Hat

I don't usually post outfit photos on Friday, but if we're being honest over here, it's Thursday night, I just got home from the Academy of Art fashion show (which, by the way, was amazing and I can't wait to share the event recap post with you next week!), and I'm tired. I'd love to stay up and share my usual Food Friday or Beauty Bites post, but alas, I don't think I can whip up what I'd like before my bed time. (And just so you know, it's past 10 and already wayyy past my bed time, ha.) So, I hope you'll forgive me and will enjoy an extra serving of Stacker Style this week.

Before The Desert

pancakeSTACKER blog x Forever 21 Maxi x Aeropostale Denim Vest

Channeling my inner festival vibes in this outfit because...I'm going to Coachella! I am so very excited to dance in the desert and let my inner flower child run free. This outfit is very reminiscent of what I'm likely to wear - denim vest, comfy sandals, and a long flowy maxi. I was crossing my fingers and toes for months that I'd somehow grab tickets, so I'm over the moon that it's happening. I haven't packed yet, and I have a million things left to do before I take off this Thursday, so I'm going to keep this one short and sweet! Click for outfit details!

Brown Brick

pancakeSTACKER blog x Aeropostale Boyfriend Jeans x Coach Bag
Boyfriend jeans are my jam. Distressed boyfriend jeans are my jelly. I picked up these cozy and comfy ones from Aeropostale not too long ago, for a cool $20. How can you even beat that? I've told you guys once and I'll tell you again - though stores may not be for my "target demographic," I still love to give them a try. When a pair of jeans fits you right, there's no denying it, and I always find a steal when I walk into Aeropostale. Now that their new spring items are in-stores, I can't wait to head back and find another sweat deal. I'll keep you guys posted on what I find next!

Purple Yellow Red and Blue

pancakeSTACKER blog x Jigsaw London Hat x Nine West Boots x Aeropostale Jacket

Do you guys listen to Portugal. The Man? If not, doitnow. Stumbled upon this wall in the city and knew it was the perfect backdrop. In fact, don't be surprised if you see it again. I've been exploring more areas and have been so fascinated with so many of the little pockets I haven't seen before.

A Touch of Eskimo

pancakeSTACKER blog x Aeropostale Jacket x HM Dress x Nine West Boots

I'm naturally colder than most - I am almost convinced my body temperature is below average (even though a thermometer says otherwise). So, if you were to look into my closet, you'd notice that I own way more coats and jackets than a human being should. Nonetheless, every fall and winter, I have to add at least one or two more to my growing collection.

Camo Creature

pancakeSTACKER x Aeropostale
Camo Jacket c/o Aeropostale, Open Knit Sweater c/o Addison NY, Shorts: Zara, Sunnies: Nordstrom

Photos by: Ryan Chua

I've been searching for the right camo jacket for some time and was more than happy to find one just in time for fall at Aeropostale. We're still experiencing an Indian Summer here in San Fran, so having a jacket that can transition from day to night is key. It's lightweight enough for warm days, but just warm enough for cool nights - how's that for just right? Also, can we talk about the fit for a moment? Sometimes, it's challenge finding a jacket that's not too boxy. With drawstring ties and a flattering cut, it was easy to cinch the waistline to hug my curves just the way I like. I'm trying to hold on to every last bit of sunshine here in the city, but I know once the fall breeze hits, I'll be wearing this jacket with jeans. For now, I'm taking advantage of the heat and showing my stems some love.

Skater Dress c/o Charlotte Russe, Denim Moto VestWhip-Stich Crossbody Bag c/o Aeropostale, Steve Madden Leopard Flats

Photos by: Kelly Ly

I have yet to find a skater dress that I don't like and this blue and white number from Charlotte Russe is no exception. Two things I love about skater dresses? They're flattering and feminine. When you have a smaller waist/torso and a larger bottom half (hey, I have hips, okay?), skater dresses complement your figure like no other dress can (which is why I own so many of them, ha!). I've been playing around with the different ways to wear vests and lately I've been stuck on the vest/dress combo. This denim moto vest from Aeropostale helps give my otherwise girly ensemble, just a the right bit of edge - but don't be surprised if you see me wearing it again in a completely different way. I can already see myself pairing it with some printed shorts or skinny jeans for my next look. And the crossbody? I'd call it the perfect summer companion. I hate carrying larger bags because it turns me into the ultimate bag lady - if I can stuff my bag to no end, then I will. A little crossbody helps me minimize and take only what I need. All together, I'd say I'm ready for summer. (Hey, San Francisco, you hear that? Gimme some sun!)

Blue Jean Baby

pancakestacker blog_Lucca Couture

Summer isn't here yet, but for the last week, here in San Francisco, the weather has been nothing short of magical. 80 degrees in May with no wind? I'll take it. So, shouldn't be any surprise that as soon as the sun came out, all my summer clothing came out. (I mean, a girl's got to take advantage!) Luckily for me, I've been well-prepared for this moment thanks to the sweeties over at Lucca Couture. I received a care package full of summer goodies and throughout the month, I'll be sharing my top looks as Lucca Couture's May Blogger of the Month! For my first look, I styled this blue dot vest with a pair of lace shorts from Aeropostale and a simple white tank from Nordstrom. I loved the pattern play with the dots and lace! The sneaks I picked up at H&M a month ago and couldn't decide if I'd ever wear them. In my closet they stayed until I finally put them on with this outfit and was sold. A pair of white sneaks is essential in any closet, so I can't say it was a bad decision to keep 'em.
