Shorter Lengths

pancakeSTACKER Blog x Aeropostale

Hi, guys! Sorry I've been a little radio silent on the blog this last week - I've been a tad bit busy and haven't been able to sit down and crank out some thoughtful posts. Luckily, I'm still sharing all my daily adventures with you on Insta, so you know where to find me for your daily, fresh stack.  I've been on a maxi and midi skirt kick, so much so that I almost never wear shorter-length skirts. So this, my friends, is a rare occurrence. I actually picked this skirt up way back when in July when I was in Fourth & fireworks mode, but never got around to wearing it. I pulled it out one day and while I love the detail, I'm still much more into those longer lengths. But hey, sometimes going outside your comfort zone is the best way to find out what you like and don't like.

Dream a Little Dream

pancakeSTACKER Blog x Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream fragrance

I've always been a gal chasing dreams. Ever since I was younger, I've been a goal digger -- listing out my dreams one by one and crossing them off, line after line. I'll admit that sometimes I get caught up in trying to make my dreams come true and forget to enjoy the journey that goes along with it. Luckily, sometimes there are outside signs that find you and remind you that the journey to the dream is worth slowing down for.

Nothing New

pancakeSTACKER blog x Aeropostale

Nothing new over here! Okay, with the exception of this top I just picked up from Aeropostale, but the rest of the pieces are just some good ole closet faves. The jeans - I'm a bit bummed I can't wear them into the office, but man, do I love wearing them on the weekends! I think they're currently my most loved pair of distressed jeans. And, I find that the more that I wear them, the more comfortable they become (but that's not all that surprising). This camo jacket has been loved to the moon and back - I can't get enough of it. I dressed up my casual look with some gold jewels - just enough to give it some extra spark. Now, looking at these photos makes me wish for the weekend! Almost there, guys...almost there!

Marvelous Maxi

pancakeSTACKElog x Pink Blush Maxi Dress x Aeropostale Denim Vest

I've worn this maxi more than a handful of times since I received it, and it's not hard to see why. It's the perfect fit - loose at the tummy, flowy throughout the bottom, and tight at the top. I love that I can dress it up or down depending on the occasion. I love the many ways I can wear it - I've belted it, tied a knot at the bottom, and styled it with different outwear. Versatility is a sign of a great piece, if you ask me. I know you are all probably so tired of hearing me say this, but I can't help but repeat myself. This is another piece you'll definitely see over and over in posts to come - I can't wait to show you all the ways I wear it!

The Short Story

pancakeSTACKER Blog x Zara Shorts x Aeropostale Tank Denim Jacket

Awww yeah - stem season! First my romper and now these shorts - best believe there will be more stem shots filling your feeds soon. I picked up this pair of shorts from Zara ages ago. Seriously, I got them pre-rest-of-the-world-summer and knew that it'd be months before they'd get their time in the sun. I mean, what screams summer like hawaiian-print short shorts, right? Alas, the time has come and I hope to have done them a little bit of justice with this outfit I pulled together. I've been wearing this Aeropostale denim jacket and white mules everywhere and like I said in Monday's post, you'll be seeing more of them in posts to come. Can't help but love a good thing.

Romper Season

pancakeSTACKER Blog x Tobi Romper x Aeropostale Denim Jacket x Shoedazzle Mules x H&M Hat

You know I love a good romper. They're easy to wear, perfect for warm weather, and they're so adorable. Rompers are my favorite to wear to festivals, beach days, and afternoons in the park. I got this one from Tobi.com and absolutely love the print and the lace details. I paired it with my new denim jacket from Aeropostale - don't you just love the two-tone coloring? Finished off the look with my favorite shoes of the season - my white hot mules. You can bet you'll be seeing all of these pieces on rotation.

Orange You Glad

pancakeSTACKER Blog x Tobi Floral Dress x Aeropostale Camo Jacket x Will Leather Goods Tote x Jeffrey Campbell Wedges

That summer has officially set in San Francisco?? I am. With temperatures in the high 70's, I'm busting out all the short shorts, rompers, dresses, and maxis. These legs ain't gonna tan themselves! And when I find a strapless dress, it's even better - no tanlines, y'all. But, if we're being honest, in all my days of dressing up, orange has never been a color I've reached for first. (Well, unless you count Orange Fridays at the ballpark.) But, when I saw this orange frock on Tobi.com, I knew it had to be in my closet. So, all in all, this dress is a complete win: new color, perfect for the sun, and no risk of wonky tan lines. Sold.

pancakeLEFTOVERS: August

pancakeSTACKER Blog x pancakeLEFTOVERS

August has always been a special month for the bloggy - did you know that this August marks four years of pancakeSTACKER? Imagine that. Never would I have thought that my blog would be what it is today. Blogging has always been much more than just sharing photos of my outfits and the latest food I'm stuffing my face with. Along the way, I've made some true homies, worked with some amazing brands, gained some solid career experience, and, of course, learned more about myself and the kind of person I want to be. It goes without saying (but I'll say it for the record) that this blog would be nothing without all the support that I'm lucky enough to have from all my supporters. I guess you can say that this edition of pancakeLEFTOVERS is a pretty special. It truly was a great month - seriously. But, before we look forward to alllll the good things to come in September, let's take one more look back at the one that came before. Here we go.
