Food Friday: Lucy Restaurant & Bar

Lucy Restaurant &Bar 6526 Yount Street, Yountville, CA 94599
pancakeSTACKER blog x Bardessono Hotel Napa Yountville
Your mouths are undoubtedly already watering after seeing the photo above, right? If they're not - check your tastebuds. Last Sunday, I had the ultimate "treat yourself" day thanks to the kind folks at Bardessono Hotel, located Napa Valley's Yountville. More on that in an upcoming post - today we're focused on the food. Because no day in the life of pancakeSTACKER is complete without food, it was only fitting that I try out the Lucy Restaurant & Bar during my visit.

Alyssa Nicole Spring '14 "White Noise" Collection Preview

pancakeSTACKER blog x Alyssa Nicole Spring Preview

Local San Francisco designer, Alyssa Casares previewed her new demi-couture line for Alyssa Nicole Spring '14 appropriately titled, "White Noise." Inspired by different shades of white, Casares brought to life beautifully designed skirts, dresses, gowns, and even her first pant suit. The collection, which is a move from her contemporary line, was brought together with tulle, white denim, chiffons, and silk. It was such a treat to watch sketches and ideas come to life from such a talented and sweet spirit. Alyssa even made a custom design tulle skirt (which you can order, custom) for me to wear to the event! My favorite piece from the line is, of course, the Silk Organza Mermaid Bridal Gown - I mean how gorgeous, right? But, since I'm no where near wedding bells, I can definitely see myself rocking the Silk Check Pencil Skirt.

To see all of the Alyssa Nicole "White Noise" line, check out her lookbook, here, and her beautiful fashion film directed by Dexter Ho.

Black

pancakeSTAKER blog x Jigsaw London Hat x Forever21 Maxi Skirt x Restricted Footwear Boots x Brandy Melville Top
It's no secret that I'm really into maxis - like now and forever. I found this one from Forever 21 for a steal at $15. I love the double slits and the print - I mean how cute are the little elephants? On a breezy day, I wear it with tights and booties. These silver cap-toes are from Restricted Shoes and let me tell you they fit like a dream. Super comfortable, durable, and fabulously fashionable, if I do say so myself. Guess I was feeling in  a bit of a grungier mood because everything I reached for was all black. Received this cute silver studded Steve Madden cross body from Accessories Council's February picks. I love it because it's a tiny little thing with character and spunk. Perfect to hold just what I need - phone, keys, wallet and some lip gloss!

Food Friday: Dishcrawl SF

pancakeSTACKER blog x Food x Dishcrawl SF
Not too long ago, I ate my way through three restaurants in the Mission thanks to Dishcrawl SF's "Miscrawl" event. It was my first time participating in a Dishcrawl, and luckily for me, the first time trying all three of the restaurants on the tasting tour. For those of you who may not be familiar, Dishcrawl is a community dedicated to culinary events. Dishcrawls take place all over (check to see if it's in a city you're in!), and allow foodies to experience different restaurants and cuisines. My first crawl took me to three restaurants: West of Pecos, Amber Dhara, and The Vetry -- all located on Valencia in the Mission. Click through to see what I ate and what I thought!

Hair How To's with Mark Hill Hair

pancakeSTACKER blog x Mark Hill Hair x Beauty

Most of you know my hair to be straight (as I rarely let me curly q's rein free). But as of late, I've been trying to challenge myself to put away the hair straightener and give my natural curls some TLC. I have to preface this post by saying I try / use A LOT of different products. I love trying new things, because, well, how else can you figure out what you like/don't like or what works?

I'll be sharing a series of beauty-inspired posts sporadically on the blog. Everything from my must, must have killer curly-hair cocktail of products, to what I've tried and liked (or even disliked). Today, I'll be chatting about Mark Hill's new hair care line - especially made to protect hair from heat styling tools. So, let's count this one as my first official hair post, shall we? Here we go!
