Stacker Style: Beanie Baby

We're a couple months into the new year, but everyday's a great time to start new, right? Earlier this year I decided it was time for a new pair of frames, because new year, new me, duh. No, but really, I hadn't changed up my frames in a while (2013, maybe?) and I thought 2016 was a good time to switch it up. Most of the time, you will find me in my contacts, but during the evenings and days after a long one, my eyes cry for glasses. I recently found out about JINS Eyewear's 15 minute in and out refraction service provided by 20/20 NOW, so I decided to give it a whirl and update my eyeglass prescription. I appreciated the fast and easy experience and really enjoyed that JINS was just a short walk away from Union Square and downtown SF. Honestly, the hardest (and longest) part about the whole experience was picking out my frames because JINS has more frames than you can imagine. After sifting through the grand selection of frames, I finally settled on these hip clear frames. The best part about the whole JINS experience is that you can settled on a pair and pick them up in 30 minutes or less! So, you're looking at an hour (or two, if you're like me and need forever and a day to pick out that perfect pair of new frames) in and out - from getting your eyes checked to putting your fresh frames on your face. So far, I've gotten a lot of love for my new lenses. And, I've got to say, it was nice stepping out of my love affair with tortoise shell frames. Special thanks to JINS for making everything so quick and easy.

Stacker Style: Cool Kid

Have you guys ever read that one quote that goes something like, "I thought that having a leather jacket would change my life and I was literally 100% totally right"? Well, that's pretty much how this little lady has felt since adding a true black leather jacket to her closet. There are always those staple items that everyone talks about - the power pump, the camel trench, the crisp white button-up, the leather jacket... Now that I'm getting even older (think late 20's, you guys, which is nutty when you think about how old I was when I started this blog), I've been more into investment pieces. Less into fast fashion, except when it comes to festival season and those little one-off's here and there, and more into good quality items. I've got to say that since this leather jacket made its way into my arms, my closet has felt so much more complete. I wear it all the time, everywhere, because it's classic and literally goes with everything! Do you guys have a clothing item that changed the game of your closet? I know I can't be the only one.

I'm Back

pancakeSTACKER blog x Banana Republic x BCBGeneration

You know it. I know it. Let's get it all out there - it's been a while since my last post (this I know all too well). Hear me out, if you will - it hasn't been for lack of want, nor apathy of any sort (quite the opposite, actually). If we're being honest here (and we're always honest here), my blog is in the process of getting made over (you heard it here first!), and in the process, I've had a harder time as of late scheduling time with friends and photogs to help me shoot my looks (let's not go back to those dark tripod days, y'all). So, while I've wanted nothing more than to shoot and to get up posts for you all (at the very least, so you know I'm still doing this thang), I've had to put it on hold until I could make things happen. But now they're happening. Hip things happening here. Do you forgive me? I hope so. Are you all still there? I hope so. Are really awesome things coming? I know so. With that, I hope you will all welcome me back with open arms and enjoy all of the things I have planned. So here we go, guys. Get ready.

My obsession with maxis continue and each one is a little different from the other. I'm continuing to play with peek a boos, but this time I've got little leg and waist action going on. This black beauty is from BCBGeneration. If you're looking for the perfect day to night dress - look no further, because you've found it. The strap detail is probably my favorite part of the dress - I mean, look at those cut outs! I was channeling more of a casual daytime look, so I paired it with a floppy sunhat, oversized kimono, and strappy sandals (my favorite of the moment, if you couldn't already tell). I'm happy to report that my obsession with maxis has only just begun... stay tuned for more lavish lengths to hit the blog.

Sweater weather? Not quite. I know you guys are tired from me going on and on about the beautiful weather we've been experiencing here in the city, but when you've (literally) waited all summer for summer to arrive, you get kind of excited once it finally decides to pay a visit and stay a while. My philosophy? Suns out, buns out... or legs, ha! Because let's be honest here, we only get the sun for maybe a month or so and once it's gone, boy is it gone. So might as well get in all the tan time you can, right? I'd say so.

And for beautiful days, I like to call upon playful rompers (this one's from Lulu*s!), big sun hats (like this one from BCBGeneration!) and sandals. I call this my everything under the sun outfit because, well, it's perfect for everything under the sun - picnic-ing, frolicking, tanning, and most importantly, smiling.

THE Dress

pancakeSTACKER x BCBGeneration x Brandy Melville by Ryan Chua
Dress: Brandy Melville; Heels: Zara; Bag c/o BCBGeneration

Photos by: Ryan Chua

Summer may be winding down for the rest of the country, but in San Francisco, things are just starting to heat up. For days when the wind blows a little less and the sun shines a little longer, there are dresses like this. I call this one, "THE dress." We all have one - the perfect little number that caresses the curves and appears to be made just for you. This floral frock flowed just the way I liked. When I saw it hanging over at Brandy Melville, I knew it was coming home with me. Even better? I get to test out my best "Angelina Jolie Leg" trick. Frankly, I can't compare to Mrs. Pitt, but oh one must try.

Alphabet Soup

pancakestacker_lucca couture
High Waist Circle Skirt c/o Lucca Couture; Jasper Alphabet Cropped Jacket c/o BCBGeneration; Top: Nordstrom; Shoes: Zara

Photos by: Ryan Chua

Nothing makes me channel my inner girly-girl more than a perfect skirt (or dress). I miss the days when I lived in SoCal and could almost always step out in one of the two. In fact, once I moved back to San Francisco (like three years ago, ha), I had a major problem, because I owned almost no pairs of pants. I'm pretty sure if you click through my archives I've said this exact thing 100 times before. If we're going to get really honest here, it took me basically until last year to embrace pants.

Though, embrace is probably too strong of a word because sometimes, the sun will come out and all feelings of acceptance for pants goes away. For days like those, I wear skirts like this. Can we talk about how absolutely perfect this High Waist Circle Skirt by Lucca Couture is? I mean on ever single level. From the cut to the color to the shape and the detail - we're talking love, people. L-O-V-E, love. But of course, sometimes the city sun likes to fool you, so smart San Franciscans know to never leave home without a jacket. No matter how sunny it is, you don't let that magical weather cloud your judgement. And what better than a perfect light jacket to pair with the perfect skirt. This BCBGeneration cropped jacket went unexpectedly well with my skirt and once the two came together I knew they were meant to be. Finished off the look with my stylish but comfy Zara heels (which I also have in black, because why not?) and I was ready to conquer the day.

Lemon Lime

L.C.t Punk Cross Back Tank & Lace Bralette in Neon Yellow c/o Lucca Couture; Striped Jackson Short & FREE Affirmation Bracelet c/o BCBGeneration; Nine West Flats

Photos by: Kelly

I typically gravitate towards neutrals (ok..really just black and white and blue, ha!), but sometimes, the perfect pop of color is the most unexpected one. So, when this neon yellow lace bralette came in the mail, I was basically through the roof. Not only was it something I didn't already have (and truly needed), but it was a piece that helped me to get out of my comfort zone. I paired it under a white racerback tank (also from Lucca Couture's new summer line, L.C.t) and a pair of striped shorts from BCBGeneration. I looked around and realized that I had this neon yellow "FREE" affirmation bracelet and thought, "Man, it's almost unbelievable how easily this outfit came together!" But sometimes, that's how it is. The perfect little piece inspires a whole outfit in the matter of minutes.

BCBGeneration #SpendTimeInStyle

You guys will probably be the first ones to agree with me that finding time to do all the things you need and want to do isn't always easy. Take me, for example. I love my blog to death, but these last couple of months I haven't had as much time to work on it with as much dedication as I would have liked. But, one thing that I've realized is, that in life, even though there might not be enough hours in the day to do it all, there is more than enough time to do all the things you love. So, with that I've never given up on my blog and I am determined to keep going and to make time for it. Whatever it is - family, friends, an event, work, laundry, the gym - if it means enough to you, you can and will make time for it. So, if you're finding it hard to do everything you need to do, just take a moment and see where all your time is going. I'm sure that after a few minutes of reflection, you'll find that there are just enough minutes in the day to make every second count.
