Oh You, You Have Been Loved by Someone Good

Gifted silk top; Skirt: Forever 21; Boots: c/o 80%20

I have somewhat of a weakness for maxi's. They're so easy; so comfy. How can I help that I have so many in my closet? The answer is: I cannot. Ha! This is my first pair of non knee-high boots, and I've gotta say that I'm a fan. These 80%20 Rina Booties happen to have a hidden wedge too, so I get extra height, as well as extra comfort. I've been a big fan of 80%20 for some time now and was thrilled to receive these booties in the mail a while back. Next one the wish list? Their Pepper bootie in bone! Or their Edie loafer in black. Swoon, right??  In other news, the three day weekend was so perfect and pleasant. I vote that all weeks have three day breaks.

It's Times Like These, I Need Relief Please Show Me How, Oh, Show Me How To Get Right

Dyed Draped Button Up Tunic c/o ShopAkira; Vest: Forever 21; Pants: H&M; Shoes: Jessica Simpson

I've been searching for the perfect white pant since maybe my sophomore year of high school, which was the last time I owned a pair. Of course, due to a few things such as college (freshman 15, anyone?) and just life in general, those pants obviously did not last me long. But now, thankfully, after years and years of searching, I finally found the perfect pair. If these pants look familiar, it is because I also own them in hot pink (seen here) and peach (seen here). You KNOW how I feel about these pants. All I can say is, H&M, make them in more colors (please and thank you). I should probably also warn you that I also have them in black...and khaki. Yes, when I said I was going to get them in every color, I was not being facetious. This tunic button up was graciously sent to me from ShopAkira. It is a very welcome addition to my closet, as it fits my style well and I love the colors. ShopAkira has some pretty amazing things on their site right now, so I do suggest taking a gander! The vest is an oldie but a goodie. Leave it to Forever to make some genuinely affordable, but stylish pieces.

Little Bit of Red

IMG_6324.1 IMG_6282.1 IMG_6299.1 IMG_6325.1 IMG_6287.1 Dress via Poshmark, Sweater: Random, Necklace via Mama Bear; Bag & Shoes: Forever 21

You all got a little sneak peek of this outfit with yesterday's post, but I wanted to do it some proper justice. I purchased this beautiful silk dress via Poshmark a little while back (for a whopping $20, holla!) and waited for the perfect occasion to wear it. Once this bad boy was listed on the app, I knew it had to be mine. From the little black buttons and the white tuxedo-shirt detail to the sweetheart line color-contrast, I was sold. I've already started thinking of other ways to wear it and can't wait until summer hits (which is basically in October for us San Franciscans), so I can wear it sans-tights. The necklace, a little treasure from my mom's collection of jewels, is one of the prettiest necklaces I've worn in a long time. Luckily for me, my mama bear doesn't mine sharing her unique jewelry collection with me, so I can wear this one any time I please. Finally, I decided to finish off the outfit with a hint of red in the lips and sweater.

This Old Routine Will Drive You Mad It's Just a Mumble Never Spoken Out Loud

IMG_6101.1 IMG_6067.1 IMG_6108.1 IMG_6105.1 IMG_6110.1 Jeans: Guess (Similar); Boyfriend Blazer: Nordstrom (Similar); Heels and Button Up: Forever 21; Necklace and Bag: H&M

I've been looking for the perfect work tote for a while now and thanks to H&M, I've found it. Scored this baby for $20! How's that for ballin' on a budget? It's a classic piece that I think will last me a long time and I just love how roomy it is! I've also been on the lookout for as many affordable button up's as I can get my hands out, and while I'd prefer to get some print in there, a little pop of color isn't so bad either. I almost walked out of Forever without this, but after a few walks around the store, I decided that it'd be a good one to have. The blazer you've seen before, but I can't get enough of it. The mister teases that I look like I'm a doctor in it, and while I sort of agree, that isn't going to stop me from wearing it. My wardrobe has changed just a bit since I've started work, and now I'm on the prowl for practical and classic pieces...but don't mistake that for boring!

Food Friday: Woodhouse Fish Co.

Woodhouse Fish Co. 1914 Fillmore Street

The gist: Last week, the boy and I were in the mood for seafood, so we made our way down to Pac Heights to try Woodhouse Fish Co. I had heard a little bit about it before and because the menu looked appetizing to both of us, we were really excited for dinner. When we got there around 7 or so, the wait wasn't too bad at all, especially considering it was a Friday night. After taking a closer look at the menu, it was a little harder to choose what to order, but with a little help from our server we finally placed our orders and waited. We started with six half shell oysters and a bowl of clam chowder. I ordered the Stuffed Artichoke, which was split in half, grilled, and then filled with dungeness crab and bat shrimp. The boy ordered the Toasted-Buttered Dungeness Crab Roll.

Wisdom Wednesday

"Forever is composed of nows." -- Emily Dickinson

Hey there. Have you missed me? I know Wisdom Wednesday has taken a bit of break for the last couple of weeks. But, hopefully like you, I've missed my weekly reflections. In any case, this week's wisdom is short, sweet, and part of the reason for my blogging hiccups these last few weeks: Forever is composed of nows. It's a very simple concept to understand, but a very hard one to grasp. Think about it. Every day, we are all working towards something in the future - a future job, a future home, a future relationship, you name it. But, how often do you realize that while you're working on the forevers of tomorrow, all the todays turn into yesterdays? It's really great to work towards a future goal (you know that I'm in full support of that), but it's also really important to remember that achieving the dreams of tomorrow and forever all start with the moments of today. I've made a point in the last few weeks to take time for myself and really appreciate each and every one of these moment. When I'm tired and I feel like having a lazy day (and believe me, I sometimes have a lot of those days), I remember that time is something you don't get back. If I can work, then I work. If I can get outside and enjoy the day, then I enjoy. If I have any spare time to get something done, then I grab it and make use of every second. I've come to realize that these are my moments in life and I want to make sure none go wasted.  Today, tomorrow, forever - they're all the same. So, my advice? Make sure you are enjoying the journey of today, while you're on the road towards your dreams of tomorrow, forever, and everything else in between. Pit stop breaks or stops to smell the flowers are also a-ok.

Happy Wednesday, everyone.

Peach Pleasure

PEACHPLEASURE7 PEACHPLEASURE1 PEACHPLEASURE6 PEACHPLEASURE5 PEACHPLEASURE2 Pants & Scarf: H&M; Billie Top c/o Crash and Burn; Peep Toes: Steve Madden; Bag; Urban Outfitters; "Cherry on Top" Carousel Glitter Lip Gloss c/o LimeCrime

This outfit epitomizes just about everything I've been known not to do. I typically don't wear lipstick. I typically don't wear pants. And, I most definitely don't wear colored pants. Ah, but how style changes. Now, I've been experimenting with lip color (and I kinda like it), pants have found a new home in my closet, and colored pants have become a recent addiction. I guess you can say the change was bound to happen. My love of lip colors started very, very slowly. I moved from my signature shade of Clinque Black Honey (still very much a favorite), to a couple of reds, and now the sky is the limit. Not to mention, LimeCrime sent me a cute little care package to feed my recent lip color exploration. My love of pants happened even slower. Well, it only took 24 years. Once I found jeans and pants that complimented my shape, I stopped hiding behind skirts and dresses, and embraced my big ole booty. The transition into colored pants happened the fastest. I first bought these H&M pants in hot pink (seen here) and once they restocked my size, I got them in every color I could find. I paired my new peachy pair with the most comfortable and relaxed top c/o Crash and Burn. I've been wearing it around town like crazy, but when you love the look and feel of something, that's to be expected.

For those of you who love this top as much as I do (or the one I wore in this post), Crash and Burn is offering my readers 20% off total purchases! Just enter PANCAKESTACKER at checkout! Offer code is good until the end of the month, so Happy Shopping!

Runway 2012: Defined

Hello SF friends! Just wanted to let you know that tonight is the night to attend San Francisco State University's thirteenth annual student spring fashion show. The Apparel Design and Merchandising students of SFSU have worked hard to showcase their designs this spring and the show will present a collaborative collection in which designers have reconstructed and revamped clothing donated from Goodwill Industries, San Francisco. This is definitely a great event to support local and upcoming designers, so if you are free, I hope you'll make it out!
