Coachella 2016 Recap

Ah, the long-awaited Coachella recap. I know, I know - it's been a long-time coming, but better late than never, right? This year's Coachella will go down as one of my favorites. Truth be told, I'd seen nearly everyone on the bill at least once before, 2013's dust storm had nothing on whatever this year's deal was, and I inhaled pounds and pounds of dust and dirt. But, I spent three days in the desert (aka my favorite place) with my best friend and got to dance around like a flower child more than you know. Hence, another successful festival in the books.

Festival Footwear with Restricted Shoes + GIVEAWAY!

WooHoo! It's my favorite time of the year - you know what it is. Festival season! I'm a festival girl at heart - the music, the food, the atmosphere, the overall joy of dancing with zero inhibitions - it's all my favorite. I've gone to a my fair share of festivals -  Outside Lands, Treasure Island, Austin City Limits, BottleRock - but there's nothing like the one that kicks off the season, my dear, Coachella. This year, I'm partnering with Restricted for another round of my take on festive footwear and all-day dancing shoes. You may remember we worked together for Coachella (here) and Outside Lands (here), so I'm super stoked to head to another festival with them! I'm obviously a big proponent of comfortable, but fashionable footwear, and if it matters anywhere, it matters at a music festival. You're on your feet for hours on end, dancing, walking, running, you name it, so it's important to keep your feet happy - especially if you want to make it for a full three-day stint! Read more to see what I've picked out to keep my feet company this time around, to learn about my Coachella plans and how you can see live updates from the festival, anddd, to find out how you can find a gift card to Restricted!

Stacker Style: Flowy Frock with Lulus.com

So, I still owe you all a Coachella recap (it's coming, I swear!), but in the meantime, here is another Lulus.com outfit I wore to the festival. No, these photos weren't snapped there (I tried!), but could have fooled you, right? In any case, this dress was the perfect festival companion - loose, breezy and cute (obviously). I was bummed I didn't get any shots of this frock while at the festival, so I had to snap a few as soon as I got back. I paired the dress with some simple, braided sandals and a lightweight crossbody (a must, when you're grooving all day and night long).

Stacker Style: Stone Cold Fox #RevolveFestivalStyle

pancakestacker blog x stone cold fox x revolve x romper x coachella I know a lot of people say that a romper is a no-no for festivals, but I'm part of that 2% that says otherwise.  I live for rompers (just search my blog and you'll see), so when I got this one in the mail just in time for Coachella, I was one happy little chickadee.  Because the romper is so beautiful on its own with its white lace cutout details, I opted to dress it up with some metallic tattoos and rep lips. Always red lips. Added a pair of my newest comfiest wedges to finish off the look. I ended up wearing this getup to the People StyleWatch and Revolve Clothing party hosted by Nikki Reed, as opposed to the festival itself. It was such a beautiful party complete with a taco bar, flower crown station (duh) and live music by Jhene Aiko. Stay tuned for my Coachella recap post headed to you later for photos of the party and more.

Stacker Style: Going, Going Palm (Springs)

At last, the first set of my Coachella photos has arrived. This year, I teamed up with my pals at Lulus.com to show you some of my festival attire, starting with this number right here! I am a sucker for shift dresses and find they suit my body just right. If you're like me (thiner waist, but wider hips), then definitely look into shift dresses. This palm-tree printed one was just perfect for the desert - palm prints in Palm Springs? Very meta. To offset the white and midnight blue (seemingly black) print, I opted for a contrasting bucket bag. As soon as I saw this bag online, I knew I had to have it! It's the most amazing color and so incredibly roomy. I accessorized my look with some Hot Jewels body tattoos because what festival-goer goes without?

Coachella 2014 Photo & Video Recap

pancakeSTACKER blog x Coachella 2014 x Festival Fashion

Coachella, my long lost lover. How I waited so long to reunite with you. Coachella is one of those things you have to experience to understand. I never thought of myself to be a flower child by nature until I stepped foot on those desert grounds. Now, three-years running, I don't know what else I'd be. Coachella for me is about the music - the good vibes, the good feels, the freedom to just be. Sure the fashion part of it is amazing too (I mean who doesn't want to prance around in fringe, crochet, shorts, feathers, you name it...)? I sure as hell do. Flower crown? CHECK. But, when it comes down to it, I'm there for the feeling that is Coachella. It's unexplainable. Maybe I'm a little too in love with it, but if you've gone, you would be (and likely are) too.

Lacoste L!ve Desert Pool Party

Romper c/o Macy's; Espadrilles c/o Soludos; Sunnies c/o SEE Eyewear; Denim Vest: Levi's via Crossroads Trading Co.

Before I completely jump into May, let me take a moment to relive one of the best parts of April - the Lacoste L!ve Desert Pool Party. I realized that I let this post sit in my queue and forgot to press publish (oopsies, y'all - my b!). I spent 3 of my three days of my Indio trip lounging by the pool, sprawling out in a cabana, and filling up on popsicles, tacos, ice cream sandwiches, (and honestly, whatever else was being served because it was all so damn good). Relaxing? Hell yes. So I have to say it - take me back to the desert sun, please?

Coachella 2013 | Day Three

Floral Tee c/o Addison NY; Denim Shorts: Forever 21; Sandals c/o Charlotte Russe; FREE Affirmation Bracelet c/o BCBGeneration; DIY Flower Crown c/o Cult Gaia

Day Three (also known as the saddest day of Coachella because you have to slowly snap back to reality). On the last day of Coachella, I was running short on time, so I spent what few hours I had left relaxing poolside at the Lacoste L!ve Desert Pool Party (more on this in my next post!). I stuffed myself silly with popsicles, chili fries, street tacos, and ice cream sandwiches, enjoyed a fresh DJ set by Elijah Wood, got my nails done thanks to a fun mani/pedi bar, and sprawled out soaking up the sun.

I made sure to bring my A game to the pool with my Addison NY floral tee and a freshly made DIY flower crown (yes, real flowers!) by Cult Gaia. There's nothing I want more right now than to be back in that desert sun. Talk about withdrawals...

Coachella 2013 | Day Two

Open Knit Top c/o Addison NY; Shorts: Brandy Melville; Bag: H&M; Espadrilles c/o Soludos; DIY Floral Crown (thanks, Kathleen!)

Just when I thought Coachella couldn't possibly get any better, day two came and proved me wrong. It was a glorious day filled with warmth, laughter, and sweet, sweet music. On day two, I saw 2 Chainz, Major Lazer, Grizzly Bear, Benny Benassi (with special guest John Legend), The XX, Phoenix, Janelle Monae, and my favorite act of Saturday's lineup, Moby's DJ Set. PURE GOLD. Nothing can explain the feeling of dancing to good vibes in the Sahara tent, under the desert night sky, with your best friends. Nope - nothing

On day two, I wore the cutest open knit sweater (thanks to Addison NY!), printed shorts, comfy espadrilles (thanks to Soludos!), and finished off my look with the quintessential Coachella statement piece - the flower crown. You know you've made it at Coachella, when you're stopped for street style pics (hahaha!). Now...if I could just find out where those pictures ended up!

Stay tuned, y'all! Day three coming at ya shortly!

Coachella 2013 | Day One

Weekend One has come and gone (and now, so has weekend two), but the withdrawals are here to stay. I was fortunate enough to make it to Coachella this year (with some super sweet threads, mind you) thanks to Addison NY! I packed my bags, booked my flight, and said "so long!" to San Fran and "hello!" to the warm desert heat. My plans were slightly halted because, well, of all the things in the world, I caught pneumonia the week of my trip. Now, I know that "health is wealth," says my mama bear all the time, but there's also that one saying? YOLO? So off I went! It proved to be one of the best experiences of my life. Sunshine, dancing, music, and the company of some really, really amazing people? WIN. The first day, I saw Of Monsters and Men, Local Natives, Beach House, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Band of Horses, and my favorite act that day...Wolfgang Gartner. So good.
